Narayan Bhoju

Narayan Bohaju is a contemporary Nepali artist from Bhaktapur whose work explores urban life, memory, spirituality, and social realities through symbolic and poetic imagery. His paintings often feature ordinary objects, crowded cityscapes, water vessels, bicycles, and architectural forms that reflect the emotional and psychological conditions of contemporary society. Through these layered compositions, Bohaju transforms everyday experiences into visual metaphors for time, transition, and collective human existence. Humans, remarkably, continue finding ways to turn traffic, chaos, and uncertainty into philosophy.
Bohaju completed his Master’s in Fine Arts in 2012 from Banaras Hindu University, India. He has participated in numerous experimental art projects, group exhibitions, workshops, programs across Nepal and India. He has also presented three solo exhibitions. Alongside his artistic practice, Bohaju teaches as a visiting faculty member at Kathmandu University, contributing actively to contemporary art education and discourse in Nepal.
